Your Dreams

I found them lying abandoned,

Scattered like scared birds.

Some were solitary shards;

Relics of youth and vigor,

Now lying neglected; remnants

Of a spirit gone ghostlike.

I gathered them up for you.

Their sere features timeless

Reminders of a future unmet.

Each one a promise to be, yet.

What corners around which

They still so clearly see!

I am returning them to you.

They are like mine, only yours.

Welcome them, get reacquainted;

Let them take you away, again.

Perhaps a journey or two remains

In a heart unfettered by pain.
