Judgment
One of the the notions commonly promoted by political pundits and historians is that history will judge people harshly for their actions, choices, positions, etc. Ooohh...look out! So what?!! None of us is going to be around to chime in and say, "Yeah, take that!".
History's judgment, if such a thing really matters, is irrelevant to our lives and struggles today. It has also been largely inaccurate up to this point. Sure, Hitler was a bad guy. Nice call.
It is poor solace to suggest that some future condemnation/retribution of current transgressions somehow makes up for everything. I think we know where this concept comes from.
People who promote injustice and wreak havock today ought to be held accountable now. Their future reputation is of little consequence to those who suffer their greed and callousness today.
Stop suggesting that some future star chamber will hold these brigands to account. It's disingenuous and insulting. If we believe people have sinned against our community's well-being, then the redress must be just and forthcoming.
