Alone

 We aren't alone/you aren't alone

This should provide some comfort and solace to those who wonder if we're alone in the universe as well as those who feel alone and disconnected everyday.

When you're driving, there are often others driving near you. They're right behind you, waiting for you to make up your mind. They're all around you expecting you to use your turn signals. They're trying to park as you drive through the parking lot like it was a slalom course.

We're/you're not alone.

When you're shopping, there are others attempting to do the same thing. You may not notice them, some are "invisible", but they are there. They are trying to navigate the aisles while your cart sits almost purposefully in their way. They are hoping you and your three friends, that you haven't seen since uncle Zeke's funeral, will move aside and provide an opportunity to escape. They're hoping you'll drop your cell phone and that it will magically reappear in your colon. We're/you're not alone.

While you're walking, others often are doing the same. They seem to appear out of nowhere, or not at all. They make noise with their shoes as they get nearer. They often simply want to pass without incident. They have unrealistic expectations that you will hold the door for them, or excuse yourself when you wander aimlessly into their path. We're/you're not alone.

After removing and dialing your cell phone, you might find yourself talking loudly to aunt Betty, while others try to watch the movie for which they paid 15 dollars. As you determine which cereal has the lowest fibre content and announce it boldly into your phone like it's a blue light special, others nearby may have fantasies about you having a personal relationship with yourself. When others snap their head around in a crowd thinking you are talking to them, try not to smile apologetically; it's disingenuous. We're/you're not alone.
